Old Austrian dishes, a wide range of soups and speciality beef dishes, made using our own-produced beef, entice countless guests to the Café Central every day. The menu changes daily and our a la carte offer follows a strict philosophy - the utmost emphasis is placed upon using local produce and high quality. Beef dishes in particular – ‘Tafelspitz’, boiled fillet of beef for instance – are second to none, in keeping with the legendary Viennese paragon of quality, and are served according to old Viennese tradition. On Sunday evenings in the winter months in particular, from October to April, from 7.30 – 9.30 p.m. our piano evening attracts many connoisseurs to enjoy a relaxing drink and an evening meal in the Café Central. The finest pastries In keeping with Viennese coffee house tradition wonderful pastries feature on the menu daily. Whether it is a home-made ‘Gugelhupf’ cake, an apple or curd strudel, a variety of different cakes or juicy cranberry pancakes, those who love sweet things really are very well catered for here.

Terraces on the pedestrianized zone Since summer 2010 the Café Central has had an additional terrace in Erlerstraße. This means our guests have 150 seats to choose from on 2 terraces. These are exceptionally popular, especially when the weather is nice, yet they also tempt you to stay for a while even when the weather isn't great thanks to the extensive awnings; temperature permitting of course.
